Like the earlier books, it is romantic, but the deeper question is about belonging. Gentry has long felt like the odd one out, and raising a child makes family feel urgent in a new way.

Across the trilogy, the lake town and the family's business life create a grounded backdrop. Restaurants, tea, family homes, and community reputation matter here. So do sibling patterns, the stories people tell themselves, and the way one crisis spills into everybody else's life. Even when each book focuses on a different couple, the larger Cabot world stays present, which makes the series feel cohesive.

Expect emotional contemporary romance with plenty of family conversation around it.
