Series background & context

The Bourbon Street Boys books are contemporary romances with one foot in danger and the other in pure chemistry. The shared link is a New Orleans private security firm, a group of capable, loyal people who spend their days dealing with criminals, stalkers, and troublemakers, and their nights pretending their personal lives are less messy than they really are.

The first book, Wrong Number, Right Guy, sets the tone fast. May Wexler answers what she thinks is an emergency text from her sister and ends up in a biker bar shootout, which is how she meets Ozzie and gets pulled into the firm's orbit. From there the series keeps pairing love stories with real pressure, whether that means Jenny trying not to fall for danger in Wrong Place, Right Time, Toni facing old wounds in Wrong Question, Right Answer, or Mika running from a Russian mafia boss in Wrong Turn, Right Direction.

New Orleans does a lot of work here.

The city gives the series heat, humor, nightlife, and a slightly off-balance energy that fits the books well. Casey keeps the suspense pieces moving, but she never forgets the banter, the sexual tension, or the found-family feeling inside the team. These are not standalone romances floating in empty space. The firm, the friendships, and the carryover relationships make the whole setup feel connected.

If you like fast romance with protective heroes, sharp heroines, and enough external trouble to keep the pace up, this is a very readable series. Start with Wrong Number, Right Guy and keep going in order so the group dynamic has room to build.
