The Amish of Ephrata Books in Order

This short series centers on Priscilla Smucker and follows her through a linked set of conflicts inside an Amish community near Ephrata, Pennsylvania. The books are compact, but the emotional throughline is strong. Rather than spreading attention across many story threads, Sarah Price stays close to one young woman learning how to answer jealousy and cruelty without hardening.

The recurring conflict is bullying. That alone sets the series apart a little from more conventional Amish romance. Priscilla keeps finding herself targeted by another young woman whose envy spills into community life, church life, and even the areas where Priscilla ought to feel safest. Price uses that pressure to ask what forgiveness looks like when the hurt is repeated and public.

There is romance here too, especially through Priscilla's connection with Stephen Esh, but the series is really about character under strain. Priscilla is not simply choosing between two suitors or waiting for a proposal. She is trying to remain generous, useful, and faithful while attention she never asked for turns into resentment from others.

The books stay very community-centered.

Charity events, quilting, teaching, marriage, and everyday neighborliness all matter because the story is about living among people you cannot just avoid. In a setting where everyone sees one another often, conflict has to be endured, answered, or transformed. That gives the series a slightly sharper social edge than some of Price's cozier work.

If you want an Amish series with short books but a clear ongoing arc, this is a solid choice. It is especially good for readers who like heroines tested by social pressure rather than grand external danger. The emotional payoff comes from watching Priscilla learn where kindness ends, where courage begins, and whether grace can survive in a place where everybody remembers everything.
