Texas Angel Books in Order

Texas Angel is a two-book frontier set that begins with a woman cast out of safety and pushed into the violence of the Rio Grande borderlands. The series is historical Christian romance, but it has rougher edges than the word romance might suggest. Race, slavery, revenge, war, and hard preaching all press into the story.

The first book, Texas Angel, follows a woman from the Toussaint Hearne family whose hidden mixed-race heritage is exposed. The revelation destroys her standing, separates her from the protection she thought she had, and sends her with her child toward frontier Texas under the threat of enslavement.

Her journey brings her into the orbit of Benjamin Sinclair, a New England evangelist who has come to Texas with fire in his sermons and a rigid view of how God works. The woman he meets, strengthened by faith discovered through a borrowed New Testament, challenges his harshness. The romance grows out of survival, but also out of a different understanding of grace.

The second book, Heaven's Road, follows Micah Sinclair, Benjamin's son. Micah is brave, wounded, and angry. After losing someone he loves, he lets revenge shape him, first as a fighter, then as an outlaw, and eventually as a Texas Ranger. He carries hatred for Mexicans, for religion, and for the father he believes failed him.

Lucie Maccullum complicates that hatred. She has Mexican heritage, family secrets, and a faith Micah does not want. Their story sits inside the larger conflict between Texas and Mexico, where loyalty is dangerous and identity can be used as evidence against a person.

This series is about redemption, but not in a tidy way.
