Tangled Fates is one of the clearest examples of how wide DeMora's range can get. These are speculative stories built around grief, regret, and the dangerous temptation to ask what would happen if fate gave you one more chance to change a terrible decision.

The premise is personal, not flashy.

That matters, because this is not a giant world-building series full of gadgets and jargon. The tension comes from intimate stakes. What do you do if you lose the people who matter most? What rules would you break to get them back? And if you could rewrite history, would the new version really be better, or just differently broken?

Each book pushes those questions a little further. There Are Limits begins with catastrophic loss and the frantic desire to hold a shattered life together. Rules Are Rules sharpens the moral problem by asking whether rewriting the past is something anyone should be allowed to do, even for love. The Gray Zone then moves into the hardest territory of all, the place where every option feels wrong and choosing still has to happen.

This is a quieter kind of suspense, but it is still suspense.

Readers who like character-driven science fiction, ethical dilemmas, and stories where emotion carries just as much weight as concept will probably find a lot to like here. The trilogy is compact, but the questions it asks are not small. It stays focused on consequence, which gives the whole thing a sharper edge than the page counts might suggest.
