Sylvester Stallone Books in Order

Stallone recounts the struggle to write Rocky and secure the leading role himself. His account of the film's creation is accompanied by photographs and captions that retell its story, linking the fictional underdog's journey with the production behind it.

Stallone combines memories of his changing relationship with exercise and body image with his approach to fitness and eating. Workout routines, nutritional ideas and reflections on motivation present the personal methods he developed through years of training and experimentation.

Stallone recalls the difficult childhood and years of precarious work preceding Rocky, framing his memoir around his arrival in New York and the film's Oscar success. His reflections explore persistence, creative ambition and the costs of pursuing a career against repeated rejection.
