Of course, he is also the one she can't stay away from.

After Sweet Evil sets the rules, Sweet Peril and Sweet Reckoning widen the story into a bigger fight. Anna connects with other Nephilim, learns more about the Dukes who control their lives, and gets pulled into a struggle over freedom, loyalty, and the possibility of redemption. The books move from school halls and secret meetings to a much broader, more dangerous stage, but they keep the focus on what these choices cost the people making them.

The romance is central, but the supporting cast matters too. Friends and fellow Neph bring humor, friction, and emotional backup, and the group dynamic helps keep the series from feeling like a two-person bubble. There is real danger here, and not just the swoony kind. Wendy Higgins mixes forbidden attraction with family secrets, spiritual stakes, and the constant fear that love itself might be used as a weapon. The tone stays emotional, fast-moving, and very easy to binge.

If you finish the main trilogy and still want more, Sweet Temptation returns to the same events from Kaidan's point of view. It works best after the first three books, because the appeal is seeing what sits underneath his charm, guilt, and self-control. Readers who love damaged heroes usually have a good time with that one.

If you want fallen angels, high-stakes romance, and a heroine who keeps choosing compassion in a world built to crush it, this is the place to start. Read Sweet Evil, then Sweet Peril and Sweet Reckoning, and save Sweet Temptation for last.
