Felix lives in a city state run by a Super Villain with a seemingly useless power, the ability to upgrade anything he owns at huge cost. A trip to the black market shows him how to exploit it, buying broken heroes and villains to fuel a very illegal empire.
Series background & context
Super Sales on Super Heroes is Arand’s take on a superhero world run by economics as much as capes and costumes. Felix lives in a city state controlled by a Super Villain, where slavery is legal and powers are everywhere. His own ability lets him upgrade any item he owns, but the energy cost makes it almost useless—right up until he finds a way to game the system through the black market.
The first trilogy follows Felix as he builds Legion, a corporation that buys broken heroes and villains, fixes them, and uses their power to fuel its own rise. What begins as a get rich scheme quickly becomes a battle for survival against hostile governments, returning gods, and organizations that do not like an upstart gaining their kind of influence. Felix’s harem and inner circle grow alongside the company, turning Legion into both a business and a family.
Later books push the stakes even higher, moving the action to new worlds and tying Felix directly into the larger Runnerverse. The tone is darkly funny and often uncomfortable, with long, detailed looks at contracts, logistics, and the fine print behind power. If you enjoy seeing a numbers focused protagonist break a superhero setting over his knee, this is the series for you.
