Snow Blind
by Cindy Gerard
2020
As winter storm Holly buries the Midwest, Rapid Response Alliance operatives Cara Graves and Josh Haskins have less than forty-eight hours to stop a nuclear disaster. The blizzard is brutal, but it is not the only thing trying to kill them.
Series background & context
Stormwatch is a six-book collaborative suspense series built around one brutal weather event, Winter Storm Holly, a blizzard bad enough to shut down roads, isolate towns, and make every bad situation worse. Each book follows a different couple and crisis, but the storm is the shared antagonist hanging over all of them.
Cindy Gerard closes the series with Snow Blind, and it is a good example of what Stormwatch does best. The weather is not just scenery. It changes timing, choices, rescue plans, and the feeling of danger in every scene. In Gerard's book, operatives Cara Graves and Josh Haskins are racing to stop a nuclear disaster while the Midwest disappears under snow and ice.
That combination gives the series a nice pace. You get the compact focus of standalones, but the shared storm keeps everything feeling connected. The tone is thriller-forward, yet still very much interested in romance under pressure.
If you want a shorter suspense series with a built-in clock, a memorable setting, and stories that use weather as a real force rather than window dressing, Stormwatch is an easy recommendation.
