Series background & context
Sparrowood Academy is a dark boarding school series where survival matters more than fitting in. Eden arrives from a very different life and quickly realizes the academy was not built for girls like her, poor, bruised, and unwilling to play polite. From the start, the school feels divided between predators and the people trying not to become prey.
That makes protection its own kind of currency.
Hawk, Gray, and Theo, often called the K-Boys, are central to the series because they sit in that uneasy middle space between danger and safety. Eden does not want to need them, but Sparrowood is full of bullies, status games, and violent pressure that makes easy choices impossible. Lawson keeps the setting tight and hostile, so the books feel gritty rather than glamorous.
Across the three installments, the series tracks shifting alliances, school power struggles, addiction, class tension, and the hard work of trusting anyone at all. If you like academy romance with teeth, where every win creates fresh fallout, Sparrowood is very much in that lane.
