Series background & context

Snowbound is a holiday historical romance series set around the annual Dorsey House party in the English countryside. The gathering is meant to offer Christmas celebrations, familiar faces, flirtation, and a little harmless drama. Then the weather closes in, leaving guests stranded together with the people they were trying very hard to avoid.

The snow is more than scenery. It traps old friends, former lovers, and uncertain couples under one roof, where there is nowhere to hide from unfinished conversations. Fireside evenings, crowded corridors, and the pressure of reputation make the perfect setup for a romance that needs one good push.

No one gets home early.

Snowbound with the Viscount follows Holly Farthing, a young widow who has quietly loved Adam Ivy for years. Adam has always treated her like a younger sister, until a crisis threatens Holly's reputation and leads him to propose a false engagement. Once the snow begins to fall, their temporary arrangement has more time to become something real.

Snowbound with the Earl turns to Lady Noelle Bonneville, a widow who has no interest in marrying again after a long marriage to a much older man. At Dorsey House, she meets Lord Evergreen, the man who once asked her to marry him and has never forgiven her refusal. Their shared past makes every new interaction complicated, especially when he appears to be courting someone else.

The series is softer and more intimate than Galen's spy or adventure books. The tension comes from grief, missed chances, family expectations, and the fear of wanting a future that feels risky. The couples are not racing across Europe or uncovering a conspiracy. They are stuck at a party with too much history and enough snow to make leaving impossible.

That does not mean the stories lack movement. Social misunderstandings, small mysteries, false engagements, and meddling guests keep things lively. But the mood is cozy, romantic, and wintry, with an emphasis on second chances and the comfort of being seen clearly by the right person.

Start with Snowbound with the Viscount for the first Dorsey House gathering and the series' central setup. The novels are short, connected holiday romances that can be enjoyed separately, but they are especially satisfying as a seasonal pair.
