Author bio
Sinclair Kelly writes paranormal and contemporary romance with a grin and a little bite. On her author site, she says she writes to give all of the feral characters in her head a voice, and that line explains a lot about the books. Her stories tend to move fast, talk back, and lean into the kind of romantic chaos that only works when the characters are fully committed to the mess.
She is based in sunny Arizona, where she lives with her husband, three kids, and an Australian shepherd puppy named Havoc. She also describes herself as fluent in sarcasm and dry humor, which feels less like branding and more like a reading guide. If you have picked up one of her books, you have probably already met that voice on the page.
And yes, the humor matters.
Kelly's first published novels appeared in 2020, including A Fate Unknown, the start of her Ghost Girl trilogy, and If the Broom Fits, which kicked off the quirky portal-fantasy Land of Legends books. Those early stories already show a lot of what she keeps coming back to: heroines dropped into impossible situations, groups of dangerously appealing men, and a tone that can swing from flirty to chaotic to genuinely tense without feeling like it lost the plot. Even one of her own blurbs describes If The Wand Sparkles as a story that began as a writing prompt and grew into something much bigger, which fits her general energy pretty well.
She likes chaos, but she likes connection just as much.
As her catalog grew, Kelly pushed deeper into omegaverse and why choose romance with books like I Think Knot, Knot a Chance, and Knot My Problem. Those novels keep the heat high, but they also make room for friendship, choice, grief, and the question of what safety actually feels like. Her readers tend to come for the possessive alphas, the instant chemistry, and the banter, then stay because the emotional glue is stronger than it first looks.
She also writes darker material. The Sinner's Mark MC books, beginning with Naughty Saint Nick, bring motorcycle club politics, old trauma, secrets, and real danger into the mix. At the same time, she has not stayed in one lane. More recent titles like He's So Slick move into hockey romance, Rodeo & Juliette heads toward cowboys and small-town heat, and Faking It Next Door leans into rom-com territory with fake boyfriends, a hometown return, and a bookstore at the center of the trouble.
Kelly also collaborates well. Some Kind of Luck, written with Letty Frame, Ali D Jensen, and Elizabeth Knight, shows how comfortable she is in a shared-world setup where multiple heroines and authors are all pulling on the same knot of suspense and attraction. That makes sense for a writer who seems to enjoy ensemble chemistry, crossover energy, and stories where one bad night can spiral into a whole series.
Across the board, a few things keep showing up. Her books like mouthy heroines, protective groups, found family, and settings that are just heightened enough to be fun, haunted houses, magical kingdoms, clubhouses, hockey circles, rodeo towns, and gossip-heavy small communities. Even when the premise is wild, the emotional center is usually pretty simple: people who have been hurt, cornered, or underestimated trying to figure out who is safe, who is worth trusting, and what kind of future they are brave enough to claim.
Off the page, the details she shares are refreshingly unpretentious. She likes reading, coffee, vodka, tattoos, wine, donuts, badass female main characters, and the friendships she has made through writing. That mix of sharp humor and open-hearted enthusiasm is a good match for the books themselves. If you want romance that can be paranormal, contemporary, funny, spicy, and a little unruly all at once, Sinclair Kelly has built a bibliography that knows exactly what it is.
