Land of Legends is Sinclair Kelly at her most gleefully weird, in a good way. The series drops an ordinary woman into a fantasy world and refuses to let the setup stay tidy for even a page or two. Suddenly there is magic, a new body, a dangerous kingdom, and two monstrous companions, an ogre and a troll, who are not nearly as simple as they first seem.

The heroine becomes the witch in this very messy fairy-tale equation, and the books have fun with that from the start. If the Broom Fits throws the trio into a realm where survival is not guaranteed, wolves are a real problem, and the local king would rather see them gone. It is portal fantasy, but with a strong rom-com streak running underneath the danger.

That mix is the main appeal.

These books do not aim for polished court fantasy. They lean into sarcasm, sexual tension, fairy-tale jokes, and the kind of adventure where every win creates a fresh complication. By If The Wand Sparkles, the story is juggling royal pressure, villainous family politics, and a whole lot of emotional confusion. By If The Throne Calls, the world has widened again, and the stakes are no longer just about getting through the day in one piece.

What keeps the trilogy together is the relationship at its center. This is not a series about a lone chosen one. It is about a witch, an ogre, and a troll learning how much they are willing to risk for one another while the kingdom keeps trying to tear them apart. The tone stays cheeky, but the commitment to the group is real.
