The Silver trilogy begins with a move that Liv Silver never wanted. Her mother relocates the family to London and announces yet another major change, a new marriage, a new house, and a ready-made stepfamily. Liv and her little sister Mia are used to starting over, but this time the adjustment is stranger than the usual new-school nerves.

Soon Liv discovers that sleep is not just sleep. In her dreams she finds long corridors lined with doors, each one leading into someone else's private dream world. That would be odd enough on its own. Then she notices that the boys from school who appear in one creepy graveyard dream seem to know real things about her afterward. The line between dream life and waking life starts to wobble.

The center of the series is Liv herself, who is observant, funny, and curious enough to keep pushing when common sense says back off. Around her are Henry Harper, who becomes both crush and complication, her future stepbrother Grayson, and a wider circle of classmates who may be hiding more than they admit. The books also make room for family comedy, especially through Mia and the chaos of blending households, so the story never gets too heavy for too long.

The ongoing mystery keeps widening without losing the school-life texture that makes the series fun.

London gives the books their mood. This is not tourist-postcard London so much as school corridors, houses full of half-known people, and nights that feel a little too still. Gier mixes that everyday setting with eerie images, doors with lizard-head knobs, talking stone figures, and shadowy followers in dreams, and it all lands in a sweet spot between paranormal mystery and teen romance. If you like fantasy with a lively voice, a strong central crush, and just enough creepiness to keep things tense, Silver is a very fun trilogy to get lost in.
