Shatter the Ice moves DeMora into pro hockey romance, but it keeps a lot of what makes her other books work. You still get pressure, loyalty, secrets, and the feeling that whole communities are watching what the characters do next. The difference is the arena replaces the clubhouse.

At the center of the trilogy is Morgan Oakson, a quiet defenseman carrying a private nightmare. Playing for Keeps starts with Morgan trapped in an abusive relationship and terrified of what telling the truth might cost him, both personally and professionally.
