Series background & context

Shadowmate is a wolf-shifter romance series set around a deadly competition that is supposed to decide a young woman's future mate. For the heroine, returning to the secret town of Fable after her father's death reveals family lies and pack politics she thought she had escaped.

The Wolf Games are not optional.

In Wolf Trials, she is ordered to enter a contest where the winner will become her official wolf mate, unless she manages to win herself. She is only seventeen and determined to refuse, but her mother makes the stakes clear. Rival packs, old grudges, and two shifters with very different claims on her future turn the competition into something much more dangerous than a ritual.

Wolf Fates continues the story as the contest and pack conflict push the heroine toward truths about her own wolf. Hunter, a mysterious Moon Wolf, and Ri, an Irish Shadow Wolf from a rival pack, are not easy allies. Their presence intensifies both the romantic tension and the risk of a war between packs.

The series has a young-adult paranormal feel alongside its fated-mate setup. Family expectations, identity, and the right to make one's own choices are just as important as the romance. Fable is a place with old rules, and the heroine has to decide whether she can survive them without becoming what others want her to be.

Fate has rules. She plans to fight them.

Start with Wolf Trials and continue to Wolf Fates. The second book builds directly on the games, the rival pack relationships, and the heroine's discovery of what she is capable of.
