SERRAted Edge Books in Order

The easiest way to explain SERRAted Edge is this: they are books about elves, race cars, and the kinds of human trouble that dark fantasy usually keeps just offstage. The good elves in this corner of the universe survive in modern America by doing practical things, and one of those things turns out to be building and racing cars. It sounds ridiculous until you are a few chapters in. Then it just feels like the local rules of the world.

Under the engine noise, the series is really about intervention. The bright elves and their human allies keep getting pulled toward children, teenagers, and families in danger. That danger can be criminal, emotional, magical, or all three at once. The dark elves feed on misery, fear, and destruction, so human suffering is not a side effect for them. It is the point.

The early books show the range fast. Born to Run throws mage Tannim and the racing elves into a fight over runaway kids. Wheels of Fire mixes a child abduction story with cult horror. When the Bough Breaks centers on an abused girl whose psychic strength could become catastrophic if nobody reaches her in time. Chrome Circle keeps Tannim in focus but adds romance, dragons, and more chaotic magical trouble.

Then the series opens up even more.

Elvendude follows a hidden elven prince raised in the human world. Spiritride brings in ghost bikers, mage training, and a rougher street feel. Lazerwarz uses a laser-tag craze as the front end of an Underhill power struggle. Much later, Silence and Breaking Silence shift to a dying Maine town where a teenage girl discovers that isolation itself can be part of the trap. By then the series has become less about one cast and more about the kinds of battles this world keeps producing.

The tone is harder-edged than Bedlam's Bard and more openly contemporary than Doubled Edge. These are books about fast machines, hidden courts, abuse, exploitation, and rescue. They do not pretend modern life is safe. They also do not forget that humor, stubborn loyalty, and weird competence can matter just as much as magical power.

That is the appeal. SERRAted Edge takes an outlandish premise and uses it to tell stories with real urgency. You get faerie politics, hot-rodding, and very specific nineties and later urban-fantasy energy, but you also get books that care about who is being hurt and who is willing to step in. For this universe, that combination is the series' real engine.
