Series background & context

The Seasons books sit in one of K.A. Linde's favorite kinds of terrain, wealthy, connected people in New York who look polished on the outside and are a complete emotional hazard underneath. This is a linked contemporary romance series where each story focuses on a different relationship, but the books all share the same social world and the same appetite for secrets, pride, and very complicated attraction.

The setup is less about one sweeping plot and more about a circle of people whose lives overlap. An heiress trying to step outside her usual world, enemies who cannot stop colliding, and a marriage built on terms and leverage all fit comfortably together here. The titles signal the mood well. These are books about lying, hating, and breaking, and none of those words are accidental.

New York matters to the feel of the series. The world is stylish, wealthy, and image conscious, but the romance never stays on the surface for long. Characters are constantly balancing desire against status, control, fear, and the versions of themselves they show everyone else.

What keeps the series interesting is the mix of familiar romance tropes and emotionally guarded characters. The setups are juicy, but the people in them are not light or breezy. They carry grudges, family damage, class expectations, and more than a few reasons to mistrust what they want.

If you like connected contemporary romances with money, sharp chemistry, and a lot of emotional friction, Seasons has that glossy, high stakes feel from the very first book.
