Series background & context
SEAL Target is Julia Bright's six-book romantic-suspense series about a group of Navy SEALs whose missions, families, and relationships overlap in and around San Diego. The books pair a different team member with a woman facing trouble that cannot be ignored.
The reading order is Wild, Jax, Bear, Harry, Andy, and Peach. The stories share a team setting, but each centers on one couple and its own emotional and suspense plot.
Being prepared for combat does not prepare anyone for sudden parenthood, family loss, or falling in love.
Wild begins when Ava Monroe escapes an abusive ex and takes a live-in nanny job in San Diego. Her employer, William "Wild" Randolph, is a SEAL unexpectedly made guardian of his nieces. The series then moves through other team members and women whose pasts, families, or unsafe circumstances create a need for help.
Bright keeps the action close to the characters' everyday lives. The SEALs have demanding jobs, but the stories also involve children, houses, neighbors, old relationships, and the small decisions that make a new life possible. Threats can arrive from an ex-partner, a hostile group, or a mystery tied to a family, while friends on the team provide backup.
The heart of the series is found family.
Start with Wild to meet the team and establish the tone. Each book can be read as a standalone, but continuing in order lets readers see the group expand and watch former central couples become part of the support system for the next one.
