2023
Edmund cleans up dirty jobs for Legion, from body disposal to hush money, in a world where heroes and villains are always on the brink of war. Secretly, he can save and reload reality like a game, a power he mostly uses to keep his crush and little sister alive.
Series background & context
Save State Hero is set in the same broad superpowered world as Super Sales, but it comes at it from the ground level. Edmund works for Legion, the sprawling corporation that operates in the gray area between Super Heroes, Super Villains, and the governments that resent them both. His job is to clean up the messes no one wants to admit happened: bodies, hush money, extraction runs, and quiet favors.
What almost no one knows is that Edmund has a power of his own. He can save and reload the state of the world, dropping back to his last checkpoint and trying again when things go wrong. At first he uses that ability in small, almost selfish ways—fixing awkward conversations, keeping his kid sister out of trouble, nudging his chances with the woman he likes—but the longer he works for Legion, the more he runs into situations where a bad outcome means mass casualties.
The series explores what that kind of power does to a person who actually cares about the people around him. Every reset leaves Edmund with memories no one else shares, and every success comes with failures he cannot quite forget. It is, at heart, a story about burnout, responsibility, and the temptation to keep chasing the perfect timeline even when perfection does not exist.
