Series background & context

Written as Erin Nicolle, this series shifts away from small-town America and into a fictional royal family, but it still feels like Erin Nicholas in the way the relationships work. The princes and bodyguards are sexy, stubborn, and a little doomed by duty until the right woman makes the whole system wobble.

The setup centers on Cara, family pressure, arranged expectations, and men trying very hard not to fall in love on anyone else's schedule. Reluctantly Royal is the place to start. The books are written in first person and run hotter than some of her other series, but they keep the same blend of humor, banter, and emotional payoff. Good choice if you want royals without losing the rom-com feel. There is still a lot of Erin Nicholas mischief in the middle of all the titles, bodyguards, and palace-level complications.
