Riverbend Friends Books in Order

Riverbend Friends is a contemporary Christian series about four teenage girls trying to handle the things that can make high school feel much bigger than it is. Tessa, Shay, Izzy, and Amelia live in Riverbend, Indiana, and their friendship becomes the steady link between books as each girl faces her own problem.

The stories stay close to everyday teen life. There are classes, parents, group chats, drama productions, social media, changing friendships, and the awkward work of saying what you really mean. The problems are serious without losing sight of the fact that these are young people still figuring out who they are.

Tessa deals with the collapse of the picture-perfect life she thought she had when her parents separate. Shay, the focus of C.J. Darlington’s Searching for Normal, is quieter and more guarded. After her father dies, she moves in with her aunt above a bookstore and tries to keep the truth about her situation from the friends she has only recently begun to trust.

In Shay’s story, grief and abandonment sit beside the normal pressures of school and bullying.
