The tone is a little rougher and meaner than some of Hopper's broader team-based stories. It is still action-forward, but it leans more thriller than military campaign, at least at the start. Readers who like a protagonist with damage on him, a story that begins with something human-sized and then reveals a stranger machinery underneath, and sci-fi that stays personal even when the scale widens will probably click with this one.
