Corrupted Crown

by Kristen Luciani

2021

Patrick Mulligan needs a wife, and Kyla Costigan needs protection, which would already be messy without their history. Forced proximity turns vicious, intimate, and impossible to ignore.

2

Tarnished Throne

by Kristen Luciani

2021

Marriage does not end the danger for Patrick and Kyla, it exposes more of it. The trilogy finale piles on betrayal, hidden enemies, and one last fight for a future together.

3

Vicious Vows

by Kristen Luciani

2021

Patrick and Kyla's story tightens as enemies circle and their forced union becomes more real. The tension is sharper, the secrets bigger, and the cost of trust much higher.

Series background & context

Reckless Reign Trilogy is a one-couple story, which means the emotional tension gets room to build instead of resetting with a new pair every book. The trilogy follows Patrick Mulligan and Kyla Costigan through a relationship that starts under pressure and only gets messier once marriage enters the picture.

Patrick needs a wife. Kyla needs protection. Neither one arrives at the arrangement from a calm or trusting place, and that is exactly why the trilogy works. Corrupted Crown sets up the forced closeness, the bad history, and the sense that attraction is the last thing either of them can afford. Vicious Vows keeps tightening the screws as enemies circle and the relationship turns more real. Tarnished Throne closes things out with marriage, betrayal, and the final unraveling of the lies around them.

This is a saga about one bond being tested over and over.

Because the books stay with the same couple, Luciani gets to spend more time on resentment, shifting loyalty, and the difference between wanting someone and trusting them. The mafia backdrop matters, but the real engine is watching Patrick and Kyla figure out whether their connection can survive the world that shaped them.

If you like trilogy romance that lets one couple dig in deep, this is a good bet. Start at book one and let the damage accumulate.
