Rebel Wheels is a connected contemporary romance series about young women whose lives are suddenly knocked sideways, and about what happens when survival, pride, friendship, and attraction all start pulling at once. The series opens with Rebel, where Teagan Cross goes from privileged college senior to somebody who has to think about money, work, and where she actually belongs. That jolt sets the tone for the books that follow.

The later books keep the same mix of upheaval and humor. Hellion follows Quinlan Torres, who should be focused on school, family obligations, and her best friend's corporate mess, but ends up distracted by a man she would be smarter to avoid. Trouble raises the stakes again with Alissa Benson, whose carefully imagined future is gone, leaving her pregnant, broke, and deeply resistant to becoming anyone's burden.

These books like messy people.

That is part of their charm. Casey does not smooth the heroines into perfect versions of themselves before the romance starts. They are angry, stubborn, funny, embarrassed, attracted at bad times, and often trying to solve practical problems before they will even admit what they want. The men are rough-edged too, which gives the whole series a more grounded, less polished feel than a lot of new adult romance.

If you like interconnected love stories with found-family energy, real money stress, and a lot of sharp banter, Rebel Wheels is worth reading in order. The emotional payoff works better when you see how Teagan, Quinlan, and Alissa keep showing up in one another's lives.
