Series background & context

The Raptors Revealed series brings a different kind of shape-shifter to Lorie O'Clare's paranormal romance. Instead of wolves or big cats, these stories feature characters connected to birds of prey, with instincts, family ties, and supernatural conflicts that give the books their own flavor.

The series starts with Feather Down and continues through Feather Possessed, Feather Adored, and Feather Torn. Each installment centers on a new romantic pairing while returning to the same wider supernatural world. The characters have to balance powerful physical instincts with the ordinary complications of work, loyalty, attraction, and trust.

Not every predator has fur.

The raptor element matters because it shapes the characters' identities and the way they respond to danger. They are protective of their own, alert to threats, and often drawn into conflicts that affect more than one couple. The romances have the intense, territorial quality readers may expect from O'Clare's shape-shifter fiction, but the series also leaves room for humor, rivalry, and family friction.

The books are connected by community and by the way one couple's problems can ripple outward. A secret, threat, or unresolved conflict may return in another character's story. That makes reading in order the best way to follow the relationships and understand the dynamics among the supernatural groups.

The tone is sensual, action-oriented, and playful in places. These are adult paranormal romances, so the emotional and physical relationships are not kept at a distance. Still, the characters' connections matter because they are often tested by outside danger or by the difficulty of accepting what they are.

Begin with Feather Down. It introduces the raptor-shifter setting and establishes the community that links the later books. Continue in order for the strongest sense of the ongoing world and the characters who recur across the series.
