Series background & context

The Fallen Gods series mixes erotic paranormal romance with a larger fantasy idea, what if people with godlike power have been living ordinary lives without remembering who they are? The books center on lost identities, old loves, and the dangerous forces that wake up when the past refuses to stay buried.

Tainted Purity begins with Bridget Down, a craft maker who has built a modest, useful life and supports the orphanage where she grew up. She does not know that she is a goddess, or that centuries of memories and enormous power have been hidden from her. When Braze finds her, he brings both a connection to her past and a threat she cannot avoid.

Memory is not always a gift.

That opening establishes the series' main appeal. The characters are not beginning as confident rulers of a magical realm. They are trying to understand what they once were while dealing with the consequences of events that began long before the current story. Romance is bound up with recognition, trust, and the question of whether an old bond can survive everything that has happened since.

The following books, including Jaded Prey and Lotus Blooming, stay in this world of supernatural power, desire, and danger. The series grows outward from Bridget's story, giving other characters their own encounters with the past and with enemies who have reasons to fear the return of the fallen gods.

The tone is steamy and dramatic, with a strong sense that the personal and the cosmic are linked. A relationship may begin with attraction, but it is never only about attraction. The characters' choices can change the balance between old powers, reveal buried truths, and decide who gets to shape the future.

Start with Tainted Purity. It gives the clearest introduction to the premise, the central mythology, and the emotional stakes that carry through the later books.
