She is strong and flawed at the same time, which is exactly where the story wants her.

Aimless Witch begins with a heroine who does not yet know where she belongs. Caravan Witch puts her into motion with other survivors. Maze Witch twists the path tighter, forcing her to face what she has avoided. Elemental Witch pulls the arc back toward the wider magical forces that shaped her life.

The books are about survival, but also about recovery. Pamela has to learn who she is when she is not just reacting to other people’s wars. The tone can be bleak, funny, sharp, and tender within a few chapters, which fits a character who is still figuring out how to carry her own history.

This series works best after Rylee Adamson and Elemental, because Pamela’s background matters. It can be read for its own quest, but the emotional weight lands harder when you already know the battles that left her broken and the family she is trying to outgrow without losing.
