Camouflage

Order and excellence have always kept Taylor safe, until a visit to an exclusive sex club puts her in the sights of Daniello, a man who lives in the shadows. Their obsessive, secret affair pulls her into a world where control is an illusion.
Series background & context
Predator and Prey is the natural escalation of the Lust & Lies universe, zeroing in on Taylor Ellison and Daniello Di Giovanni, whose relationship was too volatile to stay on the sidelines. Where Lust & Lies toys with power dynamics inside a club, this series follows what happens when that chemistry spills into a life ruled by real danger.
In Camouflage, Taylor has remade herself from a girl in backwoods Tennessee into a perfectly polished, ruthless businesswoman. She lives by two rules—order and excellence—and has the money and influence to prove they work. To blow off steam she visits an underground sex club, content to keep her desires compartmentalized and detached. That separation crumbles when she notices a man who seems to haunt every corner of the room. Daniello is beautiful, frightening, and entirely uninterested in becoming part of her careful routine.
Their affair starts as a physical arrangement, an escape valve for two people who do not believe in love. The more time they spend together, the more Taylor realizes Daniello is not just a dominant lover but someone connected to violence and crime on a level she does not fully understand. At the same time, pieces of her past start surfacing, reminding her that she did not leave all of her ghosts behind when she left home.
Crosshairs continues their story and deepens the fallout. Picking up directly after Camouflage, it finds Taylor and Daniello unable to stay away from each other, even as the cost of the relationship rises. Her estranged family, old enemies, and buried trauma collide with his criminal obligations, forcing both of them to choose between survival and the bond they have built in the shadows. Taylor’s journey is as much about facing the woman she used to be as it is about accepting what Daniello really is.
Later printings collected Taylor’s arc in Predator and Prey: The Phoenix and The Fire, bringing the duet into a single volume. However you read it, the series is at its core about a woman who has always relied on control falling in love with a man who embodies chaos, and what that does to both of them.
Expect a lot of heat, morally ambiguous decisions, and a willingness to lean into the darker side of romantic suspense. If you have already read Lust & Lies, you will recognize locations and cameos, but Predator and Prey stands on its own as a complete, two‑book story about obsession, danger, and the painful work of starting over.
