Power Station is Gephart's straight-up band-romance series, built around an international rock group and the people who get pulled into its orbit. Unlike the Lexi books, each novel follows a different couple, so you get the backstage world without being tied to one central romance.

High Strung starts with bassist Dan Evans and Ashlyn Murphy, whose life is stalled in exactly the wrong ways when he crashes into it. Crash Ride follows drummer Troy Harris and Megan Winters, who thinks finally acting on a long-running fantasy will get him out of her system. Back Stage turns to Jason Irwin and Angie Morelli, mixing music, old hurt, and second-chance tension.

The band is the backbone here. Tours, gigs, fans, travel, and group loyalty keep the world moving, but the books do not treat fame as a cure-all. These men still carry baggage, make selfish choices, and have to figure out what love looks like when their careers are loud, public, and always pulling them away from normal life.

Backstage is not a calm place.

What helps the series stand out is that the heroines are not just dazzled spectators. Ashlyn, Megan, and Angie all bring their own problems, pride, and ambitions into the relationship. That keeps the books from feeling like simple wish-fulfillment. The romances are sexy, but they are also about boundaries, history, and whether attraction can survive real-world pressure.

There is also a nice working-class thread running through the series. Even with international success in the picture, the stories still feel close to neighborhoods, old friendships, family expectations, and the memory of who these characters were before anyone cared about VIP access.
