Poison Ivy Books in Order

Wilson's Poison Ivy run begins with Pamela Isley in a body she did not ask for and a mission that sounds simple only until you hear it out loud: heal the planet by ending humanity's damage to it, and maybe humanity too. From that starting point the series becomes a road story, a body-horror book, an eco-thriller, and a character study about someone who is furious for good reasons and still capable of doing terrible things.

Early volumes send Ivy out across the American landscape, where she targets people whose wealth and influence help poison the world while hiding behind polished language and public image. Wilson makes those episodes nasty and darkly funny, but she also keeps circling back to Ivy's instability, loneliness, and shifting sense of purpose. This is not a clean revenge fantasy. Ivy is dangerous, powerful, often right, and very capable of becoming the problem herself.

The run grows more complicated as it goes. Harley Quinn, Janet, Gotham City, and Ivy's own changing body all pull her in directions she cannot fully control. Later volumes move from the road back toward home, then outward again into stranger territory involving the Green, the Grey, old enemies, new cultish threats, and the town of Marshview. The scale gets bigger, but the tension stays personal because Ivy is always fighting over what kind of life she thinks she is building.

It is messy in the best way.

The tone is darker than many superhero books, though not humorless. There is horror here, especially body horror, but also satire, romance, grief, and flashes of tenderness. Wilson clearly likes Ivy as more than a villain or symbol. She writes her as brilliant, self-justifying, wounded, seductive, monstrous, and occasionally almost ordinary, which is exactly what keeps the run alive.

If you want a Poison Ivy story that treats environmental rage seriously without sanding down the character's contradictions, this is a strong place to start. The books are stylish and unsettling, but they also keep asking the hardest question available to Ivy: if the world is sick, what does healing look like, and who gets to decide the price?
