Author bio
Pedro Urvi was born in 1969 in Bilbao, in northern Spain, and grew up surrounded by books. Long before he thought of himself as a writer, he was the kind of reader who devoured epic fantasy, science fiction, and thrillers and then imagined his own worlds on the walk home.
By day he built a different kind of world. Urvi trained as a technologist and spent years working in information systems and cybersecurity. His career took him from Spain to England, the United States, and across Europe, designing and maintaining complex technical systems while quietly stockpiling story ideas in the background.
The turning point came when he sat down “as an experiment” and started writing what would become Marked. He had no long term plan, only curiosity about whether he could turn the stories in his head into a complete novel. The pages kept coming. That experiment grew into a finished book, and then into the four-volume saga known as The Ilenian Enigma.
In that series, Urvi follows Komir, an outcast warrior drawn into a struggle involving a lost civilization, three rival kingdoms, and a looming ancient evil. Readers responded to the clear stakes, the mix of mystery and magic, and the sense that small choices made by uncertain people can shift the fate of a continent.
He next turned to a harsher world in The Secret of the Golden Gods trilogy. Those books follow Kyra, her brother Ikai, and the sea-dwelling Senoca people as they live under the rule of merciless gods. The tone is darker and more overtly dystopian, but the focus stays on family bonds, sacrifice, and the cost of fighting for freedom.
For many readers, Urvi is best known for Path of the Ranger, a long running series that begins with The Traitor's Son. Set in the kingdom of Norghana, it follows Lasgol, the despised son of an alleged traitor, as he joins a secret ranger academy to clear his father’s name. What starts as a school story quickly widens into wars, political plots, and a tight-knit team of rangers known as the Snow Panthers. The series has grown to more than twenty books and reached readers of many ages in multiple languages.
His newer saga, The Path of Dragons, shares a universe with Path of the Ranger but shifts the view to the dragon lords who rule another world and to Nahia, a girl with dragon blood forced into a brutal martial academy. Across both series, Urvi’s background in systems and security shows up in the way his magic, politics, and secret orders all interlock.
Today he still lives in Bilbao, working in information systems and cybersecurity while writing new stories set in Tremia and beyond. When he is not at a keyboard, he likes to run along the river near the Guggenheim Museum, letting his mind drift away from code and plots for a while. Then he comes back to the page to give readers more adventures filled with loyalty, danger, and just enough hope.
