Part of Your World is Abby Jimenez's warmest and most connected series, a set of romances that move between Minneapolis and the fictional small town of Wakan, Minnesota. The first book starts with Alexis Montgomery, an ER doctor from a wealthy family of famous surgeons, and Daniel Grant, a younger carpenter and bed-and-breakfast owner whose whole life is rooted in Wakan. Their romance runs on opposites-attract energy, but the real tension is about class, family expectations, and what home is supposed to look like.

The second book, Yours Truly, follows Briana Ortiz and Jacob Maddox, two ER doctors who get off to a terrible start and then begin to understand each other through letters, lunches, and a fake-dating arrangement. It is also one of Jimenez's gentlest love stories, especially in the way it handles anxiety, divorce, family strain, and the simple relief of being truly seen.

By the time you reach Just for the Summer, the series has widened into a whole network of friends, siblings, and recurring faces. Justin and Emma meet over a bizarre shared curse, everyone they date seems to find their soulmate right after them, and what should be a temporary summer plan turns complicated fast. A cottage stay, a complicated mother, and sudden family responsibility push the book from funny setup into something much deeper.

Wakan is part of the charm.

That fictional town gives the series its center of gravity. Wakan feels cozy without becoming too cute, full of regulars, old family houses, local traditions, surprise acts of kindness, and people who notice when someone is struggling. Even when the books leave town for hospital shifts or lake weekends, that sense of community stays with them. Familiar characters cross over all the time, so reading in order is rewarding, not because the plots are hard to follow, but because the emotional payoffs keep building.

These books are softhearted, but not lightweight.

What to expect overall is adult romance with real pressure on it. Jimenez writes a lot about burnout, toxic families, money, health, panic, caregiving, and the ways people learn to trust after being worn down. But she balances all of that with good jokes, strong side characters, animals that steal scenes, and heroes whose main talent is showing up. If you want romances that feel kind, messy, and deeply rooted in place, Part of Your World is probably the best door into Abby Jimenez's larger universe.
