Page Turners Books in Order

The Page Turners series is where Jennie Marts really leans into her love of mixing romance, humor, and mystery. The setup is simple and very effective: a group of women in Pleasant Valley, Colorado belong to a book club, and they keep ending up far too close to murder. What starts as gossip, curiosity, or a bad date has a habit of turning into amateur sleuthing.

Each main book focuses on a different woman in the circle. Another Saturday Night and I Ain't Got No Body follows Sunny Vale, whose friends decide to fix her love life with blind dates just as a mysterious man moves in next door. Easy Like Sunday Mourning gives the spotlight to lawyer and single mom Maggie Hayes. Later books shift to feisty Edna Allen, neat-and-tidy accountant Zoey Allen, and college freshman Piper Denton, while the holiday novellas branch out to other side characters.

These women do not know how to mind their own business, and that is half the fun.

The mysteries come from all over the place: missing neighbors, murder accusations, poisoned suspects, financial schemes, campus killings, and a Halloween case with a ghostly twist. The romances are just as central. A teacher falls for the wrong man at the wrong time, a lawyer gets tangled up with a murder suspect, a widow is snowed in with a cowboy, and a psychic ends up working with a hard-nosed detective. Because the same friend group keeps circling back, the series builds a nice sense of community.

Tone is everything here. These books are cozier than hard-edged, but they are not lightweight in a forgettable way. Marts keeps the pages moving with banter, oddball situations, heartfelt friendship, and heroines who are smart even when they are absolutely making things harder for themselves. There is also a real affection for book clubs, nosy neighbors, and women of different ages looking out for one another.

If you like romantic mysteries where friendship matters as much as the case, the Page Turners are a very easy series to sink into.
