Pacific Northwest Forensics Books in Order

This newer series leans hard into forensic work, cold cases, and the idea that evidence can lie for years if the wrong people handled it first. That makes Pacific Northwest Forensics feel a little more procedural than some of Carol Ericson's earlier lines.

The Pacific Northwest setting helps. There is a chill to these books, but the real hook is the overlap between past and present. One story revisits a sister's murder that may never have been solved correctly. Another digs into possible corruption inside the forensics lab itself, which means the evidence in older cases cannot be trusted at face value.

The heroes and heroines come from that world. Crime scene investigators, FBI agents, academic experts, and lab personnel all have skin in the game. The romantic tension grows out of shared work, old suspicion, and the fact that solving the case could destroy someone's career as easily as it could save a life.

If you like your Ericson with a stronger investigative spine and a cold-case angle, this series looks promising already.
