Odds-Are-Good is a collection of standalone contemporary romances set across Alaska. Every story starts with a personal ad, then follows the unexpected connection that grows when someone answers it.

The premise gives each book a fun starting point, but the stories do not stay shallow. A journalist, a single father, a musher, a veterinarian, a lawyer, a pilot, and other characters arrive with their own responsibilities and reasons for keeping people at a distance.

Single in Sitka begins the series when Seattle journalist Amanda McKendrick answers an ad placed by widowed state trooper Luke Kingston. In Nome-o Seeks Juliet, veterinary student Juliet Sanderson teams up with musher Cody Garrison for a demanding sled-dog race. The later books continue to use Alaska's distance, weather, and rugged landscapes as real pressure on the couples.

Titles such as A Fairbanks Affair, My Valdez Valentine, Catfished in Craig, Dr. Dan in Ketchikan, and Summer in Skagway make the locations part of the fun. The people in these stories are often looking for one thing, then finding a much more complicated possibility.

The romances are connected by the personal-ad idea rather than by one continuing plot. You can read them in any order, though starting with Single in Sitka introduces the tone nicely.
