Series background & context

Obsidian Knights Secret Society takes Kristen Luciani's taste for dangerous men and moves it into a world of wealthy power brokers, blackmail, and hidden rules. The heroes here are not just mob heirs or street-level enforcers. They are billionaires, fixers, and predators tied to a secret network that reaches into every relationship on the page.

That secret society is the hook.

The first book, The Secrets That Kill, sets the tone with Mercer Vale and Ivy Gardner, a relationship built on old damage, revenge, and forced closeness. From there, the series keeps widening through The Desires That Burn, The Sins That Ruin, and The Truths That Deceive. Each book shifts to a new central couple, but the same world of control, leverage, and covert violence keeps pressing in from all sides.

What makes this series feel different from Luciani's mafia families is the social texture. These books are glossier, more secretive, and a little more decadent. The danger often hides behind money, status, or the polished face a character shows in public. That creates a nice contrast with the rawer crime-family books, even though the emotional stakes are just as intense.

Expect dark romance with strong BDSM elements, morally gray heroes, and heroines who keep having to decide what they are willing to trade for safety, truth, or love. If you like secret-society stories where privilege is part of the threat, this is one of the more distinct worlds in Luciani's catalog.
