The tone stays recognizably Baxter. The books move fast, attraction tends to hit hard, and the heroines are usually smart enough to know when their lives are getting out of hand even if they cannot stop it. The heroes tend to be rich, dangerous, or both, but the relationships work because the women are not there to decorate the plot. They have problems of their own, and the suspense usually depends on them as much as on the men trying to protect them.

This series also has a nice range. Some books lean more heavily into workplace or billionaire romance. Others feel closer to mystery or high-stakes protection stories. That variety keeps the connected world lively.
