Author bio
Nancy Naigle was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and her roots show up all over her fiction. She knows the pull of small towns, front porches, family businesses, church suppers, holiday parades, and neighbors who notice when your life is off-kilter.
Before she became a full-time novelist, Naigle built a long career in banking and technology. She worked for Bank of America while also living farm life, including years on a large goat farm. Writing started as the other dream, the one she kept making time for after the workday was done.
That double life mattered.
Her Adams Grove books began while she was still in finance, and Sweet Tea and Secrets introduced the mix many readers now expect from her: romance, a Southern setting, a mystery thread, and a community that can be helpful, nosy, and right on time. Out of Focus followed with a more urgent suspense setup, but still kept the emotional focus on ordinary people under pressure.
After early retirement from the financial industry, Naigle shifted fully into writing. Her books moved across several cozy lanes, including small-town romance, holiday fiction, light mystery, and women’s fiction. The tone is usually warm, but the characters are often rebuilding from real disappointments: divorce, grief, career burnout, family strain, or the hard surprise of starting over later than planned.
The settings do real work.
Readers who come to Naigle for Christmas often start with Christmas Joy, Hope at Christmas, Christmas Angels, or her novelizations connected to Christmas in Evergreen. Those stories lean into cookies, stores, inns, tree farms, and town traditions, but the heart of them is usually simpler: someone has lost their way, and a place full of people helps them find it again.
Her more recent work has broadened that same idea. The Shell Collector brought readers to Whelk’s Island for a story about grief, friendship across generations, and the quiet ways people help one another heal. The Wedding Ranch, What Remains True, and the Chestnut Ridge books keep returning to second chances, creative work, animals, old houses, family history, and love that grows best when people stop pretending they are fine.
Naigle now lives in Franklin, Virginia. When she is not writing, she has shared that she enjoys antiquing, painting, crafts, and time with friends. That fits her books pretty well. They are full of people sorting through what has been broken, saving what still has value, and making something homey out of the pieces.
