Liar's Moon keeps Grayson in Ireland as she struggles to accept what she has become responsible for. Her enemy, the wizard Phelan Tynan, is still working against her, while new arrivals make it hard to know whom to trust. Elinora, a mysterious immortal, and Sister Gabriel, a nun who appears at St. Brigid's Monastery, add both help and uncertainty to the search for the truth.

The books blend fantasy adventure with romance, mystery, and a little of Sweeney's familiar humor. There are ancient objects to protect, riddles to solve, and a constant feeling that allies may have private agendas. Readers who like supernatural stories rooted in folklore will find plenty to enjoy, especially if they like their magic with Irish scenery and a heroine who would prefer a straightforward explanation.

Read Residual Moon before Liar's Moon. The second book continues Grayson's story and assumes that the reader understands the earlier discoveries and conflicts. The Moon books also share parts of their supernatural setting with the Dawn series, though Grayson's journey has its own main arc.
