Anthea is not a starry-eyed beginner, which gives the book a nice change of pace. She knows what society expects, and she knows that choosing a husband is practical business as much as romance. Then Jasper Waldon appears, swears he will never marry, and promptly makes that position look shaky.

Seduction shifts the focus in an interesting way. Instead of a fresh debut, Bennett turns to Lana and George, two people with a painful shared past and a daughter caught in the middle. That gives the series a broader emotional range. It is not only about first seasons and first kisses. It is also about what happens years later, after mistakes, abandonment, fear, and survival have changed people. Amelia's future matters, but so does the unfinished story between her parents.

That broader focus helps explain what this second run is trying to do. Mockingbird Square is no longer just a place where separated lovers find each other again. Lady Deborah's presence is a useful thread too. She brings some of the lightness that made the first series so readable, but Bennett does not stop there. She keeps pairing charm with complication. A ball or a polite call may start the trouble, yet the real question is usually deeper: who gets to begin again, and what must they risk to do it?

If you liked the first Mockingbird Square books and wanted more of the same world with a slightly wider emotional lens, this follow-on series fits well. It still has quick pacing, romantic payoff, and a friendly linked-story structure, but it is a bit more interested in memory, family fallout, and the mess left behind when love once went wrong.
