Series background & context

Misty Point blends romance with a stronger women's fiction streak, which makes it feel a little different from some of Olivia Miles's other small-town series. The setting is a beach town, but the emotional engine is not just falling in love. It is family damage, betrayal, forgiveness, and the question of whether people who hurt each other can ever find their way back.

The series begins with One Week to the Wedding, and the premise starts hot. Kate Daniels is a wedding planner still reeling from a humiliating broken engagement, made worse by the fact that her younger sister Charlotte was part of the disaster. That sister rift gives the series its real bite. Romance matters, but so does the slow, uneasy work of facing what happened.

Weddings keep the pressure high.

That is part of the fun of Misty Point. There are gowns, centerpieces, guests to manage, holiday expectations, and the ever-present possibility that emotions will spill over at exactly the wrong moment. In the middle of all that, Miles threads in attraction, second chances, and the comfort of a town where people do not always get to stay strangers.

The second book, The Winter Wedding Plan, carries that same mix of heart and tension into a holiday setting. As in the first novel, the romance is tied to bigger questions about trust, family, and the kind of future the characters are willing to build.

If you want a series that still feels cozy but has a little more edge in its family dynamics, Misty Point is worth a look. It offers the familiar pleasures of Olivia Miles, with extra weight given to sisterhood, fallout, and healing.
