Mission Medusa returns to the world of Dees's earlier Medusa stories years after a second Medusa team disappeared. The military revives the classified program to train women for Special Forces work, creating a new group of operatives who know exactly how much is riding on their performance.

The three books, The Recruit, The Spy, and The Operator, follow different women connected to the new team. Their assignments bring them into contact with kidnappings, intelligence work, hostile actors, and men whose own military or intelligence backgrounds make them valuable partners, difficult allies, or both.

The series uses the team structure to keep the stakes broad. A romance may be the heart of an individual novel, but the Medusas are also part of a continuing experiment in who gets trusted with the most difficult jobs. Their work requires training, secrecy, and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information.

These are military romantic-suspense books, not a purely procedural series. Expect capable heroines, active missions, and relationships shaped by duty and risk. The women are tested physically and emotionally, and the team bond matters as much as the individual love stories.
