Mission Critical: Iniquus Certified Cerberus Tactical K9 Books in Order

Mission Critical: Iniquus Certified Cerberus Tactical K9 is Fiona Quinn's romantic suspense series about people facing danger with skilled dogs and capable human partners at their side. Set within her wider Iniquus world, the books combine rescue work, protective relationships and heroines whose professional knowledge matters to survival. Each story has its own central couple and canine connection, while the shared training network gives the series a familiar setting and supporting world.

Whiskey introduces emergency nurse Sommer Hayes, who wants a quieter life after a painful relationship. Her secluded home seems to offer it until a nearby bloodhound's howling becomes impossible to ignore. Complaining about the noise online creates an unexpected connection to FBI Special Agent Gabriel Atworth. He has inherited Whiskey from his late brother and is dealing with a grieving dog while trying to protect sensitive professional work from unwanted attention.

Gabriel specialises in geolocation, using details in digital images to trace people and places. The online post leads him toward Sommer, but by the time he follows it she is away with friends in the Virginia mountains. A medical emergency leaves the group isolated and places Sommer's nursing skills under immediate pressure. Reaching her requires Gabriel to rely on Whiskey's search-and-rescue abilities, combining human analysis with a dog's very different way of navigating the world.

The dogs are working partners, not simply companions at home.

Tango turns to medical researcher Piper Phillips and retired Air Force special operator Ethan Osbourne, known as Wiz. Piper is developing a treatment for a rare genetic disease that killed her father and now threatens her own future. Moving toward clinical trials should be a major step forward, but it also brings people who want control of the formula. The research gives her an urgent purpose beyond the romance and makes the threat to her both personal and professional.

Ethan works close-protection assignments in Washington, D.C., while his dog Tango trains at Cerberus Tactical K9. His connection with Piper isn't simply a job, and her willingness to trust his protection doesn't mean she wants to surrender her independence. The setup brings tactical experience alongside scientific expertise. Both are needed when a threat depends on controlling knowledge rather than merely overpowering someone, and the relationship develops around recognising what the other person can contribute.

Start with Whiskey and continue to Tango for publication order, or choose the premise that interests you; Quinn's Iniquus stories outside the Lynx sequence are designed to allow flexible entry. Expect action, medical stakes and romance that keeps explicit bedroom scenes off the page. The series' shared appeal is practical teamwork: people with different skills, supported by trained dogs, learning how to protect one another without treating competence or affection as belonging to only one side of the partnership.
