Author bio
Fiona Quinn is a Canadian-born writer of romantic suspense and mystery who builds her stories around people doing hard jobs under impossible pressure. Her books connect through her shared World of Iniquus, a place where special operators, intelligence professionals, and working dogs keep colliding with danger and with each other.
Her stories move fast, but they always make time for the human stuff.
Quinn has a habit of collecting skills the way some people collect souvenirs. She studied history, foreign language, and psychology, and later earned a master's in counseling. Before writing full time, she worked a mix of jobs that gave her an ear for how people talk when they are tired, scared, or trying to keep it together, from court-related crisis work to marketing, to a string of very normal gigs that make their way into her characters' backstories.
Travel shows up in her books for the same reason it shows up in her life, she is curious and she likes to learn by doing. She has talked openly about treating life like an ever-growing toolbox, picking up experiences, training, and facts that might make the next scene feel more real. That mindset also fits her stories, which often drop you into a mission with a clear objective and then complicate it with emotion, history, and the cost of doing the job.
One of the earliest sparks for her Iniquus world came from asking what kind of education could build a very different kind of problem solver. That question helped shape Lexi Sobado, the psychic-leaning strategist at the heart of Weakest Lynx, and it set the tone for a lot of what followed: smart characters, odd angles, and plots that mix field work with puzzles.
If you are new to her books, you can get a good read on her range just by sampling a few entry points. Survival Instinct leans into K9 rescue and survival stakes. Open Secret heads into modern espionage, where technology and influence campaigns can be as dangerous as weapons. Cold Red and Even Odds keep the pressure on with task force work and uneasy alliances. And titles like Red Line, Beowolf, and Radar show how she blends globe-spanning suspense with relationships that have to be built in the middle of chaos.
If a dog shows up in a Fiona Quinn book, it is not there for decoration.
Quinn also writes outside this main lane. She has published urban fantasy as Fiona Angelica Quinn, and she co-writes the Badge Bunny Booze mysteries with Tina Glasneck under the shared pen name Quinn Glasneck, a very different vibe that leans hard into comedy and fast, messy mysteries.
These days, she is rooted on Virginia's Atlantic coast with her family, balancing the realities of home life with the kind of research and imagination it takes to keep a long-running fictional world coherent. The result is a bibliography that is big on competence, loyalty, and the question her characters keep having to answer: who do you become when the mission is over?
