Author bio

Michael Wisehart writes epic and coming of age fantasy set in the world of Aldor, best known through The Aldoran Chronicles and his prequel series Street Rats of Aramoor.

He grew up in North Georgia, surrounded by hills, forest, and farmland, and today he still lives there with deer in the yard and fire ants underfoot.

Writing was not his first plan. After several years working construction he went to college close to home, earned a degree in business accounting with honors, and spent time in that field before realizing spreadsheets were not where his imagination wanted to stay.

Looking for a more creative path, he went back to school to study film. For the next few years he learned cameras, lighting, and editing, co-founded production companies, and even helped develop and pitch a reality TV series that never quite made it onto the air.

In 2014 he finally turned all that visual training inward, opened his laptop one April morning, and started typing the story that would become The White Tower.

That single decision grew into The Aldoran Chronicles, an epic fantasy saga set in a world where magic has been outlawed for a thousand years and anyone caught wielding it is dragged to the White Tower. Across books like The White Tower, Plague of Shadows, The Four-Part Key, The Tunnels Beneath, and Blood of the Mountains, readers follow characters such as Ty, Ayrion, Ferrin, and Adarra as they face inquisitors, dark wizards, and ancient powers stirring back to life. Along the way the series has collected several independent fantasy awards, and the audiobooks, narrated by Tim Gerard Reynolds, have helped new readers discover Aldor while commuting or on long road trips.

While those books sweep across kingdoms and wars, Street Rats of Aramoor moves in closer. Starting with Banished, Hurricane, and Rockslide, the series follows Ayrion from an exiled Upakan teenager to a street legend in the capital city of Aramoor, caught between ruthless guilds, rival tribes of street kids, and the first hints of the larger conflicts that will later shake the Five Kingdoms. Later volumes like Sandstorm, Wildfire, and Avalanche push him into the king's service, dangerous rescue missions, and choices that test how far he is willing to go to protect the family he has built on the streets.

Across both series Wisehart leans on his film background, writing battle scenes, cityscapes, and quiet character moments in a way that feels like watching a movie on the page.

He is known for keeping his stories clean of strong language and explicit sex while still allowing the violence of a medieval style world to feel sharp and real, which makes his books a common choice for families who like to read or listen together. Away from the drafting desk he continues to map new corners of Aldor, shares progress updates with readers online, and treats writing less like a finish line and more like an ongoing craft he keeps trying to improve.
