Series background & context

The Meet Me series is a four-book contemporary romance sequence about a tight group of friends, with each book giving one woman her own love story. The books can be read in order for the friendship thread, but each one is built to stand on its own. The series starts in Chelsea, then opens out to Hawaii, Tahiti, and the Devon coast.

At the heart of the series are women trying to be brave after life has knocked them sideways. Victoria Scott, the heroine of Meet Me in London, is an aspiring designer working a bar job while she tries to build a future in fashion. Malie Pukui in Meet Me in Hawaii has fled Devon after tragedy and rebuilt herself around surf, children who need help, and island life. Zoe Tayler in Meet Me in Tahiti is a travel writer who wants independence after a life-changing accident. Lily Atwell in Meet Me at the Wedding is rooted in Hawke's Cove, but the return of Henry Hawkesbury brings back a decade-old hurt.

The tone is warm, romantic, and easy to settle into.

Toffolo leans on classic romance setups: fake engagement, wounded hearts, second chances, enemies with unfinished history, and the forced closeness of work projects, hotels, charities, and weddings. The conflicts are emotional rather than dark. Characters are often dealing with grief, family pressure, fear of being judged, or the problem of wanting love while not quite trusting it.

Setting does a lot of work here. Chelsea gives Meet Me in London its shop windows, department-store tension, and festive bustle. Hawaii brings surf schools, rescue, and the chance to start over somewhere bright. Tahiti uses a luxury resort and a travel assignment to put Zoe and Finn face to face again. Hawke's Cove and the Hawkesbury estate bring the series back to Devon, close to Toffolo's own roots, for a wedding story with small-town history baked in.

The friend group is the thread that ties it together.

If you like romance that keeps a foot in real worries but still aims for comfort, this is the lane. The books are about love stories, yes, but also about choosing your own shape of happiness, letting friends carry some of the weight, and learning that a fresh start doesn't always mean leaving the past behind.
