The tension comes as much from trust, healing, and emotional openness as it does from outside enemies. Casey also keeps a streak of humor and stubborn personality in the mix, which helps the world feel lived in rather than cold or technical.

If you usually know Casey for contemporary romance, Maji is her clear genre pivot. But it still feels like her in the places that matter most: fierce heroines, protective heroes who have to learn better, and love stories that happen while the world is trying very hard to fall apart.
