Love Games (Mickey Miller) Books in Order

Mickey Miller's Love Games is a two-book contemporary romance duet about Carter Flynn and Lacy, two people with a shared past, a painful lie between them, and very little ability to stay out of each other's lives. Unlike Miller's connected standalone series, these books tell one continuing story. Read The Lying Game first, then move directly to The End Game.

The Lying Game begins when Lacy travels to Chicago for a dance camp and her housing arrangement unexpectedly falls apart. Her only workable option is to stay with Carter, the childhood family friend who was once much more than that. Carter is now a successful basketball player with money, a penthouse, and plenty of confidence. He also still carries anger over what happened between them years earlier.

Neither of them has forgotten the past as cleanly as they pretend.

The forced roommate setup puts Lacy and Carter in close quarters, but the story is not just about a summer attraction. Lacy is trying to build a future in dance, while Carter has to face the ways his pride and old hurt have shaped the man he has become. Their chemistry is strong, yet every step forward brings up the original betrayal and the question of whether either of them can actually trust the other.

The first book ends with their future far from settled, which is why The End Game is essential rather than optional. The sequel follows Lacy as she tries to start over in New York and focus on her dance career. Carter is left to confront personal problems, including unresolved issues with his father, and decide whether he is willing to change instead of simply asking Lacy to forgive him.

The second half gives the romance a more emotional and suspenseful edge. Carter and Lacy are no longer just dealing with attraction or a bad memory. They have to decide whether love is enough when distance, family trouble, and their own worst habits keep reopening old wounds.

This is a good series for readers who like enemies-to-lovers tension that grows out of a former friendship, professional sports, and a dance-world heroine with plans beyond the relationship. It has more continuing drama than Miller's usual standalones, so reading in order matters.

Expect a high-chemistry, high-emotion story with banter, regret, and a couple who repeatedly have to choose honesty over the easier option. The Lying Game sets the board. The End Game asks whether Carter and Lacy can stop treating love like something they need to win.
