Author bio
Leigh Lennon writes romance that leans hard into feeling. Her books are often steamy, sometimes taboo, and usually built around characters who are carrying more than they show on the surface. Readers come to her for big emotions, complicated relationships, and stories that are willing to sit with grief, fear, desire, and hope all at once.
Before publishing fiction, Lennon served in the military and earned a degree in elementary education.
Writing had been part of her life for a long time. In interviews, she has said she wrote stories when she was young, then set that dream aside while life got busy. The turning point came later, when her husband was diagnosed with cancer and she was caring for him while also raising four small children. She has described writing as an outlet during that stretch, something that gave her a place to put the thoughts and pressure she was carrying.
That personal history helps explain why so many of her books feel lived in. Even when the setup is bold, a forbidden attraction, a three-person relationship, a hidden past, the emotional stakes are usually grounded in real fears. People in Lennon novels are often dealing with illness, family strain, old hurt, shame, public pressure, or the uneasy work of starting over.
She covers a lot of ground.
Some readers first meet her through Unfiltered, a contemporary romance about a sharp-tongued woman whose life is falling apart just as a new neighbor shows up. Others start with Foundations, which opens her Power of Three Love series and shows how interested she is in relationships that do not fit tidy boxes. My Only Reason brings in sports and second-chance longing, while Like Father Like Son pushes into forbidden territory with a grief-heavy setup. Then there is Forbidden With Me, which adds a suspense thread to the romance.
Across those books, a few patterns keep showing up. Lennon likes found family. She likes characters who have to choose honesty over safety. She returns often to second chances, to people who think they have missed their moment, and to relationships that ask for trust before they can offer comfort. She also writes a wide range of pairings and dynamics, including M/M, MMF, and other unconventional love stories.
Her military background seems to feed the practical side of her storytelling, too. Even in her hottest books, there is usually a sense that actions have consequences and that love alone does not solve everything. Her characters still have to talk, show up, and do the hard part.
These days, Lennon still describes herself in simple, memorable ways: a mother, a veteran, and the wife of a cancer survivor. She has joked that she lugs her computer everywhere, and that her family treats it like another member of the household. That image fits. Her books feel like they were written by someone who knows life can get messy fast, and still believes people can find their way through it.
